Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 5, 1970 Funeral services are planned for Thursday at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church for Mrs. Sylvia Fasquelle Maguire, widow of the late Charles. L. Magiure and one of this towns’s most widely known beloved residents. Mrs. Maguire died early Wednesday morning in Community Hospital. She had been taken there on Monday from her home on the South Mesa at Rancho de los Caballeros which she and her husband were instrumental in establishing in 1947. Mrs. Maguire was serving as Secretary of the Vestry at St. Alban’s at the time of her death; she was also a Director of the Wickenburg Public Library and had served a 3 year term as Secretary of the Community Hospital Association. She was born in 1892 in Isabella County, Michigan, and came to Wickenburg first in 1942 as a guest at Remuda Ranch. Mrs. Maguire and her husband developed the Maguire Addition, Sunny Cove and Sunny Cove Heights subdivisions in the town and the Country Club Acres development west of the city. Her closest know survivor is a sister residing in Hemet, California. ------------------------------ Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 3, 1970 Sylvia Maguire’s smile radiated more of her warmth and personal charm than any number of printed words can convey. Her sudden and unexpected death last March was a loss to the many friends and guests who knew her over the years. Many people will remember many things may be we are lucky at Los Caballeros since so much of that smile still remain here at the ranch. ------------------------------ Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona September 12, 1970 The Rev. Dan Gerrard of Scottsdale, formerly of Wickenburg, came to assist the Rev. Gus Tuttle at the funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia Maguire, held at the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church at 3 p.m., last Thursday, March 5, burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. The passing of Mrs. Maguire on March 4 in Community Hospital, following a brief illness, leaves a vast void in the social, civic and business life of this community to which she had contributed so much in her nearly 22 years of residence.
