VIVIAN, Lester F.


Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona April 16, 1970 Lester F. Vivian, a civil and mining engineer whose profession took him to several foreign countries and who had lived in Wickenburg the past year and one-half, died April 7 in Community Hospital here following an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Wickenburg Funeral Home at 2 p.m. April 10, conducted by the Rev. Bert Follmar of the Calvary Baptist Church and burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mr. Vivian was born June 25, 1902 in Bayard, Nebraska. He received his engineering education at the Tri-State Engineering College in Angola, Indiana. During the depression years he was employed by the Kennecott Copper co. at its Ray, Arizona, operation. Later he went to Bolivia South America, where he spent eight years with tin and tungsten mining interests. Immediately following World War II he pursued his profession in Guam, Okinawa and Japan, as a civilian employee of the U.S, government. Ill health let to his retirement on 1966. He is survived by a son James F. Vivian of Washing ton, D.C., and his mother, Mrs. Lula B. Vivian of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
