DRANCHAK, Eugene S. (Gene)

Wickenburg (AZ) Sun Wednesday, December 5, 2007, p B-8 Eugene S. "Gene" Dranchak, age 75, passed away Nov 26 in Wickenburg. Funeral services were held on Friday (Nov 30) at 3pm at Wickenburg Funeral Home with Fr George Highberger as celebrant. Interment followed in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Gene was born and raised in Binghamton, NY. He attended schools there, graduating from Kingston High School. He later served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. When he returned from the service he began working for General Electric. He came to Arizona in 1977 and began working for Motorola where he worked several years. He moved to Wickenburg eight years ago and very much enjoyed the community. He was a member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He also enjoyed working at Rancho de los Caballeros on the golf course and golfing as well as tennis and racketball. Gene enjoyed the desert and spent time gold mining and often took trips to Laughlin. He is survived by his wife Gloria of Wickenburg; daughters Eileen Dranchak of Mesa, Ariz., Sue Peinkofer of Oregon, and Catherin Maddi of New York; brothers Kenny and George Dranchak both of New York; seven grandchildren Joseph, Jonathan and Michael Maddi, Jason and Rachel Peinkofer, Edward and Anna Dranchak; and a great grandchild Luke Maddi. Arrangements are under the direction of Wickenburg Funeral Home and Crematory.
