The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Sunday, April 27, 2003 Helen Astopenia passed away on April 23, 2003 at her home in Scottsdale, AZ. She is survived by John, her husband of 58 years; brothers John Pipski of Los Angeles, Sam Pipski of Sterling Heights, MI and Bob Pipski of Shelby Township, MI; three sisters-In-law and thirteen nieces and nephews. Born in Butler, PA, she later moved to Detroit where she worked in clothing retail. Helen was a devoted wife whose indomitable spirit and support carried them both through adventure and difficulty. Services will be on her 84th birthday, Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., visitation at 9:30 a.m., Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
