Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona October 14, 1971 Mrs. Isie Billingsley was Pioneer Resident - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday of this week at the First Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Isie Alice Billingsley, a pioneer and widely known resident of Arizona and of Wickenburg for the past 19 years, who died October 6 in Community Hospital here following a lengthy illness. She was 82 years of age. The Eastern Star, with which she was long affiliated, conducted the graveside rites at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Mrs. Billingsley came to Arizona as a bride in 1908 from her native West Virginia and for 43 years made her home, with her late husband Cecil Billingsley, St., on the K Bar C and OX cattle ranches in the Date Creek area. Her husband died in 1954. She was a graduate of Wesleyan College in West Virginia and was associated with her father, the Rev. R. Backus of the Methodist Episcopal faith before coming to Arizona. She started a small Sunday School and church service in Congress, Arizona 50 years ago. Since moving to Wickenburg, she took an active part in the First Presbyterian Church here, the Eastern Star, Community Hospital and local welfare and social groups. Surviving are three sons, Grant (Buck) and Cecil of Nucia, Colorado, and George of Duncan, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. Tommie Dunn and Mrs. Lucille Templeton, both of Phoenix and Mrs. Ruth Pemberton of Prescott. Ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
