Helen Marie McCoy Ross, 79, died Easter morning, April 20, 2003. A native Coloradoan, she was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on January 30, 1924. She was educated at St. Mary's College in Lawrence, Kansas.
In 1946, she married Clancy Ross, M.D. and lived 35 years in Burlington, Colorado, devoting her life to her family. She moved to Scottsdale, AZ in October 2001. Helen enjoyed knitting, rose gardening, every imaginable kind of card game, cats, creative cooking and entertaining, and a love of reading and correspondence.
Preceding her in death were her parents Julia and Roy McCoy, her brother Tom McCoy and her husband in 1991. She is survived by her daughters; Sydney (Stephen) Enders of Scottsdale, AZ and Leslie (Jim) Selenke of Hudson, Iowa. She will be remembered by her grandchildren; Maegan Enders, Adam, Alexandria, and Andrew Ross Selenke.
Helen will be deeply missed by her brother Jim McCoy of Goodyear, AZ, many nieces and nephews, and friends that she has touched in her special way all around the country.
A celebration Mass of Helen's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 447 S. Old Litchfield Rd., Litchfield Park, AZ.
We wish to extend appreciation for all the support and love we've had since Mom's brain aneurysm.
We are grateful to Hospice for giving Mom dignity and her family courage to let her go.
