Robert J. "Bob" Bishop, 84, died May 8, 2003 in Show Low. 
      
Bob was born and raised in Hempstead, Texas, the oldest of 12 children. He married Dortha Evans in 1942 and they moved to New Mexico where they eventually settled in Deming for 47 years. They later moved to Arizona 1997 and resided at White Mountain Lakes until Dortha died in 20000, after 58 years of marriage. He then moved to Joseph City to be closer to his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing the guitar.
      
Robert is survived by his daughter Beverly (Dan) Eldridge of Joseph City; son-in-law, Robert Toon of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Lena Mae West of Wickenburg and Lula Marcell Pearson of Hewett, Texas; three grandsons and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his wife Dortha' his parents, nine brothers and sisters and two daughters.
      
Memorial services will be held Friday, May 16, at 2 p.m. at Owens Mortuary Chapel in Holbrook.
