Vida Katherine Hancock, 68, died May 26, 2003 in Scottsdale.
Vida was born in Regina, New Mexico and grew up in Cuba, Waterflow and other areas of Northeastern New Mexico. She married Chet Hancock of Taylor and they have lived in Taylor ever since. Chet died in January 1981.
Vida was a homemaker and always kept busy making quilts and cooking for the family, and for anyone else who needed it. Vida loved the outdoors and the White Mountain was her home. She always enjoyed being in the mountain camping, hiking, and exploring. She was a hard worker all of her life, and was never idle. She mostly enjoyed being with and serving her family.
Vida is survived by two sons, Timothy (Annette) Hancock Jr. of Show Low. Storm James (Tasha) Hancock of Olympia, Washington; five daughters, Rose (Clarence) Petersen of Springerville, Vicky (Mike) Rose of Show Low, Verlie (Roger) Douglass of Tacoma, Washington, Sandra L. Hancock of Show Low and Patricia (Wilfred) Armijo of Taylor; five brothers, Everett Lard, Ben Lard, Lee lard, Joe Lard and Dennis Lard; three sisters, Mae Mitchell, Sissy Roberts, and Della Boren, all out of state; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 30 at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake and one hour prior to the funeral service to be held Saturday, May 31 at 11 a.m. at the Love Lake Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Burial will be in the Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor.
