THORPE, Dennis Michael

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 06/03/2003 Dennis Michael Thorpe, 59, died after a lengthy illness May 29, 2003. Thorpe was born May 28, 1944 and lived most of his life in Arizona. He recently made his home in Concho. He served in the Army in the 82nd Airborne Rangers during the Vietnam era. Family came first with Dennis, he was a devoted father and loving husband. He loved horses and spent many hours with his horse, Cody. Surviving him are his wife, Frankie Sue; sons, James F. Thorpe from Langely, Colorado, Michael W. Thorpe of Mesa; daughters, Joan M. Thorpe of Mesa and Sherry L. Thorpe of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; his parents, Jimmy R. and Mae Thorpe of Carson City, Nevada; sister, Suzie Thorpe of Carson City, Nevada. A memorial service was held June 2 at the old LDS Chapel in St. Johns. Arrangements were under the direction of Jewkes Mortuary of Springerville/St. Johns.
