The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 06/06/2003 Pearl Lue Wilson, 87, died June 2, 2003 in Vernon. She was born Sept. 4, 1915 in Sherwood, Oklahoma to Robert and Carrie Shipman. She married Ozie E. Wilson Oct. 1, 1935 and they moved to McNary, then to Maverick and later to Pinetop where she lived with Ozie until he died March 10, 1998. Pearl worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Co. in Granny Yoders home in Pinetop until the phone company went to the dial system in 1960. She later worked as a cook in the Pinetop School Cafeteria in Lakeside at the Blue Ridge School cafeteria until she retired in 1972. Pearl loved camping and cooking for all her kids, grandchildren and friends. Her home was always open to everyone and always full of loved ones. Pearl is survived by her daughter Wilma Jean (Jim) Solomon of Wyoming; two sons, Dale (Edie) Wilson of Pinetop, Carl R. (Nancy) Wilson of Roosevelt Lake; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Private memorial services will be held Friday, May 6 at the families home in Pinetop. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the local Alzheimer's Association or RTA Hospice. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
