Florence Kuffer, 90, died June 3, 2003 in Show Low.
She was born and raised in Alamo, Nevada. At the age of 15 she moved to Las Vegas where she was able to attend and graduate from high school. After high school Florence worked with the telephone company until she met Fernand Kuffer and were married in 1933, they were married 64 years when Fernand died in 1997. Together they made their home in Los Angeles area where they lived until moving to Pinetop in 1993.
Florence was a bookkeeper, working mainly for Sunkist Growers. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Relief Society President, and in the Young Women's organization for many years. She also served as a receptionist in the Los Angeles temple. Florence was a faithful visiting teacher and was an example to all. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and working on family history. She loved her family.
Florence is survived by her son, F. Bannie (Karen) Kuffer; four sisters, Lucille Stirling, Pearl Tolman, Lillian Ammerman, and Dorothy Bunker; four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Fernand; her parents; five brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9 at the Pinetop Lakeside Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a viewing beginning at 10 a.m.
Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
