MADRID, Celso (Junior)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 06/13/2003 Celso "Junior" Madrid, 63, died June 6, 2003 at his home in Eagar. Junior was born Jan. 13, 1941 in Morenci, to Celso and Varis Madrid. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He returned home after his stint in the service and a short time later married Wilma Wiltbank. He served as a scout master for over 20 years and was an avid camper, hiker and hunter. He was a life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in the Sunday School and the young men's organization. Preceding him in death is his brother, Joe Madrid. Survivors include his wife, Wilda and his children, sons; Thane (Kim) Madrid of Springerville, Eric (Elizabeth) Madrid of Springerville, Alan (Terri) Madrid of Pinetop; daughters, Keli (Aaron) Dean of Prescott Valley, Brandy (Charlie) Young of Prescott Valley and Lori (Mick) Torres of Eagar. Also his parents, Celso, Sr. and Varis Madrid; sister, Georgia (Bob) Moore of Roseburg, Oregon; and brother, Robert (Ginny) Madrid of Eagar; 18 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held June 9 at the LDS Stake Center in Eagar and was laid to rest in the Eagar Cemetery. Contributions can be made to RTA Hospice, Hwy 260, Lakeside, AZ 85929. Jewkes Mortuary of Springerville handled arrangements.
