RIOS,
Loyola M.
Loyola M. Rios was called home to our Creator on Friday, June 20, 2003. She was born on November 1, 1928.
Mother of six children, Loyola is survived by two sons, Celestino D. Rios and his wife Linda Rios, son Michael A. Rios, three daughters, Ann M. Booras and her husband Steven Booras, daughter Rose M. Vincent and her husband Gene and daughter Maria Rios. 21 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren and one son deceased, Eugene F. Moreno.
Layola is a member of the Gila River Indian Community. She left the Community at a very young age in search of a new life and adventure. Momma was both mother and father to us children as she struggled and did her best to raise six children on a meager wage. Her hard work and the love for her children kept us all fed and provided a home and place to live. For all these accomplishments we, her children are very grateful to her. Our mother and grandmother will be greatly missed.
Loyola loved life and all of creation. She lived a very simple life and was loved by many. Loyola was a Parkinson's patient for many years. She rarely let her disability hold her away from enjoying life and loved having her family visit her and take her out on occasion. Our mother was close to the Great Spirit, she was strong in her Catholic faith and spoke to her Maker often. Our mother showed us patience, courage and love as she lived her humble life.
Loyola resided at the Emmanuel Campus of Care in Peoria, Arizona. The Rios family is very appreciative of the care and love the associates of Emmanuel Campus of Care gave our mother during the years she lived there. May peace and love fill their lives always. Momma will be missed and loved from this day forward until our eyes and spirits meet again.
Momma may your journey be swift and peaceful. May you receive our thoughts and prayers from the wings of the eagle. Please pray for us. Momma, in a prayer I share with others it is said; "If I could talk to my grandfathers, I'd say the old times are gone, so much has changed, but love like the wind is still here. When all else fades away faith, hope and love will remain, those feelings that are so strong, so mysterious will always be with us. I think of you my relatives and I thank you, I thank you." Momma may you walk in beauty.
Services will be held in Bapchule, Arizona, on Friday, June 27, 2003, 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior.
