Thomas S.
Thomas S. Prideaux, passed away December 8, 2002 in Sun City West, AZ. He is survived by his wife Alma.
Mr. Prideaux was born August 26, 1914, the son of Thomas V. and Belline Prideaux in Portland, Oregon.
After graduating from Lewis and Clark College in Portland he joined the United States National Bank of Oregon. Starting as a Messenger he advanced to Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank and also Vice Chairman of the U.S. Army during WWII as a Private and separated as a Major of a M.A.S.H. Unit. During his banking career he completed advanced studies in banking and economics at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Tom's Thesis was published and is currently in the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. He served on numerous boards including Allied Bank International in New York City and Cascade Construction Company of Oregon. Tom enjoyed many hobbies including golf, photography, bridge, piano, organ, model railroading and woodworking. He participated in scores of radio and tv interviews and on panel programs on Economic Affairs. He also served as a guest speaker at area service clubs.
Tom and Alma traveled extensively around the world. After 42 years of service at the bank he retired in 1979. He and Alma divided their time between their homes in Oregon and Arizona. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: Sun Health Foundation/Del Webb Memorial Hospital, PO Box 2015, Sun City, AZ 85372. Private Services were held. Arrangements handled by Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel.
