SCHMIDT, Robert William (Bob)


The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Monday, April 28, 2003 Robert William "Bob" Schmidt was born December 10, 1930 in Union City, NJ. He passed away at Hospice of the Valley in East Mesa on April 26, 2003 after a long illness. Bob loved life and struggled until the last minute to get the most out of life. Bob adored his family and is survived by his wife Beverly, son Craig of NJ, daughter Cindy Goyette of Chandler and granddaughter Brittany Goyette. Bob served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1958. He had a long career in newspaper advertising for the New Jersey Herald in Newton, NJ and the Daily News-Sun in Sun City. We know how much he would want to thank the loving staff at Hospice of the Valley. There will be a memorial service at Desert Cross Lutheran Church, 8600 S. McClintock Drive, Tempe, on Tuesday, April 29th at 4 pm. where Bob and Bev are charter members. Internment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St.. Phx. 85014 or Desert Cross Lutheran Church, 8600 S.
