GRIEGO, Gabriel M.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 12/09/2003 Gabriel M. Griego, 83, of St. Johns died Dec. 1, 2003 at Bannon Springs Ranch in Vernon. Gabriel was born April 7, 1920 in Williams and was a lifetime resident of Arizona. He was a WWII veteran and received a Purple Heart while serving in the United States Army. Gabriel was a very quiet man. He liked to travel. His favorite pastime was cruising in his truck. Gabriel was a laborer. During his lifetime, he held several jobs and occupations. He worked at the Whiting Sawmill in Eagar, for the City of Flagstaff, City of St. Johns and during his latter years as a security guard for a construction company. He is survived by his daughter, Josephine (Daniel) Vallejos; five grand children; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Rosary was held for Gabriel Sunday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. Funeral services was held Monday, Dec. 8. Both services will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns. Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns is in charge of arrangements.
