QUINTERO, Cassandra (Sandra)

12/19/2003 Cassandra "Sandra" Quintero, 65, died in Whiteriver Dec. 12, 2003. Sandra was born March 25, 1938 in North Fork. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in Ft. Apache where she was homecoming queen. Sandra met Howard Quintero, Sr., they married and had eight children. A good deal of her time was spent in prayer. While being a devoted mother she also enjoyed competing in road races. She was an athlete at heart. Sandra also enjoyed planting corn, collecting rocks, sewing, cooking, and taking care of her horse "Chandler" who she won in a raffle. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren. Sandra is survived by her sons, Charles (Norma) Quintero of Over the Rainbow, Howard (Janet), Jr. of North Fork, Larry Quinter of North Fork; daughters, Perlina (Lex) Baha of North Fork, Rose Marie Quintero of Over the Rainbow, Rose Mary Quintero of Jurassic Park, Michelle Quintero of North Fork; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Bernardo Quintero. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 20 at 10 a.m. at the North Fork Miracle Church with a two day wake beginning Thursday, Dec. 18. Interment will be in the Diamond Creek Cemetery. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements
