Ella McCleve, 85, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Snowflake Dec. 22, 2003.
She was born in Taylor and lived most of her life in Arizona. She loved participating in church activities and organizations and attending the temple. She also enjoyed nature and painting. She was a wonderful storyteller to her grandchildren and she enjoyed helping support her grandchildren on missions.
Ella recorded her life history with scrap booking in pictures and word. She was very involved in the lives of every individual she taught or served within the church. She married R. Lester McCleve in the Arizona Mesa Temple Sept. 22, 1939 and spent most of her life as a mother and homemaker.
She is survived by eight daughters, Sheila (Fred) Stewart of Snowflake, Kathie (Jim) Maner of Taylor, Nora (Lyle) West of Idaho, Marilyn (Lenard) Chapple of Snowflake, Sharon (John) Beck of Utah, Connie (Don) Smith of Utah, Nancy Jane (Jim) Bailey of Snowflake, Sherlene (Dennis) Eyre of Utah; two sons, Verl Lester (Anna) McCleve and John (Laura) McCleve both of Snowflake; five sisters, Marbry Vance of Show Low, Hilda Frost of Taylor, Rilla Caldwell of Lakeside, Doris Rogers of Show Low and Viola Adams of Snowflake; 66 grandchildren; and 82 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. Lester; one brother, Willard Lewis; one sister, Mildred Turley; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 27 at 10 a.m. at the Snowflake Stake Center The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a visitation one hour prior and from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 at Owens Mortuary of Snowflake.
