The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 12/26/2003 Kathleen A. McCarty, 77, died Dec. 20, 2003 in Springerville. She was born June 8, 1926 in Luna, New Mexico. She was the fifth child born to Joseph Byron and Mabel Reynolds Adair. After the death of her husband, Paul Lund, she married Glen McCarty of Reserve, New Mexico. She made her home in Reserve for the past six years. She was known for her beautiful floral arrangements and owned and operated Kathleenís Flowers in Eagar and Springerville for many years. Friends and family members cherish the art of her beautifully pieced quilts. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint. She served many funeral luncheons to the people of this area. She and Glen enjoyed traveling. They wintered in Quartzite where they were "rock hounds"-finding, cleaning, and polishing their found treasures. She is survived by her husband, Glen McCarty, Reserve, New Mexico; brother; James Adair, Mesa; sister-in-law; Brownie Adair, Ione, California; brother-in-law; Larry Sherwood, Eagar; and six step children; Della Culwell, Prescott, Lonnie Lund, Cottonwood, Barry Lund, Colorado, Shirley Peralta, Reserve, New Mexico., Glenna Honeyfield, Missouri, and Richard McCarty, Reserve, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Lund her parents and three brothers; Byron Smith "Frenchie" Adair, Charles Marion ìBudî Adair, Ira Clinton Adair, two sisters; Margie Mae "Peggy" Hall and Mary J. Sherwood and one son; Ronnie Kimball. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Luna Ward, Luna, New Mexico. Jewkes Mortuary of Springerville was in charge of arrangements.
