PACKARD, Virginia H.


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 07/17/2003 Virginia H. Packard, 78, died July 12, 2003 in Snowflake. She was born Aug. 12, 1924 in Aurora, Utah and lived in Arizona for 44 years. She is the daughter of Sidney and Hazel Draper Humphrey, she married Arthur H. Packard and later divorced. Virginia was a secretary at Ironton and Geneva Steel during the 1940's. She also worked for Skaggs-Osco Drug, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; serving as a worker in the Mesa Arizona Temple, and also serving a mission to the Orlando Florida Temple in 1995-96. Survivors include her five sons; Michael Packard of Mesa, Bruce (Karen) Packard of Snowflake, Kim Packard of Mesa, Quinn Packard of Layton, Utah and Kris (Kelly) Packard of Prescott Valley; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters: Vessa Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Laural (Floyd) Ostler of Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was preceded in death by three infant grandchildren; parents; sister; Thaola Tucker and brothers, Blair, Duane; and two infant brothers Services will be held in Snowflake with burial in Aurora, Utah. Arrangements are under the direction of Fletcher's Mortuary.
