SOLT, Clara A.

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 07/21/2003 Clara Solt, 88, died July 15, 2003 at her home in Overgaard. Clara was born in Read, Colorado Oct. 13, 1914. She was the fourth child of 10 born to Fredrick and Ethel Doyle Wattenbarger. She had six sisters and three brothers which all have preceded her in death. Clara came to Arizona in 1946 with her three sons, Charley, Bill and Don. She worked and owned four cafes in her life, Clara's last job was as a motel clerk for the Maxwell House in Show Low. She loved to cook and to sew; she made beautiful quilts, clothes and western shirts for her sons. She was a member of the Eastern Stars and was active with the Senior Citizens group in Heber for many years. Clara is survived by her three sons, Charley (LaRae) of St. Johns, Bill (Mary) of Overgaard, and Don (Karen) of St. Johns. She had 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three grandsons, Billy Bradburn, Mike Bradburn and Michael Moore. Clara was loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
