The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 07/23/2003 John A. Wyers, 80, died July 17, 2003 in Taylor. John was born and raised in the Netherlands. After completing his education he went to work as an airplane mechanic for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. John married Berta in 1948; in 1956 they came to the United States and lived in Tucson for 35 years. He worked at Davis Monthan Air Force Base, Marana Air Base and Ft. Huachuca. Later John worked for BMW and Volkswagen. They moved to Taylor in 1991 after they retired. John is survived by his wife, Berta J. Wyers of Taylor; two daughters, Jeanette (Dennis) Coplan of Taylor and Germa (Brant) Vario of Tucson; three sons, Frank Wyers of Tucson, Tony Wyers of Taylor, and Johnny (Cherrie) Wyers of Phoenix; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26 at 2 p.m. at The Taylor Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled the arrangements.
