Kearney Moore was a well known rancher - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for J. Kearney Moore, widely known rancher in the Aguila and Congress areas for the past 40 years. He died April 28 in Community Hospital here at age 64.
The Rev. Frank Yarbrough of Prescott officiated at the services and burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
During his years as a resident of Yavapai County, Mr. Moore served for six years as a Deputy Sheriff of that county. He was with the Arizona Fish & Game Commission for 17 years. He was as well known in and around his home country and his death came as a shock to his many friends here and throughout the area.
He was born April 19, 1907 in Kearney, California, a member of a pioneer family which had located in Idaho in 1976, later taking up residence in California.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife Nellie L., a son Roy, also of Congress; two brothers, Jesse C. Moore, Ehrenburg, and John Moore, Wikieup; three sisters, Mrs. Iva L. Benedict, Aguila; Mrs. Leola Rutledge, Cottonwood, and Mrs. Lydia Green, living in California. Three grandchildren also survive.
