Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona April 29, 1971 Roy Barnes - The sympathies of the Community are extended to Mrs. Karen Barnes of Poston, Arizona, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hershkowitz of Wickenburg, in the death of her husband Roy S. Barnes, age 41 which occurred in a light plane crash March 24. The wreaked plane and the bodies of Mr. Barnes, who was at the controls when the plane took off from a Scottsdale airport and his passenger, Boyle E. Roscoe, age 34 of Scottsdale, were found atop Mingus Mountain between Prescott and Cottonwood last week. The plane was owned by the Bruce Church Ranches of Poston, by whom Mr. Barnes was employed. Funeral services for Mr. Barnes were held in Yuma Monday of this week with burial in that city. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two young children, Kimberly and Roy. Mr. Barnes’ son Allen was killed in action in Vietnam several years ago. His Mother two sisters and brother also survive.
