Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona April 8, 1971, page 10 William E. Thompson - Private funeral services were held Monday of this week at the A.L. Moore & Sons Mortuary in Phoenix for William Evarts Thompson, age 82, who, until his retirement just a few months ago, was for many years active in the mining and business life of this community. Mr. Thompson died March 31 in a Phoenix hospital. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix. He had just recently sold the Real Estate business here which he had owned and operated since 1960. He was, for years, an officer of and active in the local chapter of the Arizona Small Mine Owners’ Association. Born in Ida Grove, Iowa, he had moved to Arizona in 1897 and had lived in Glendale and Yuma before moving here. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife Jacqueline, a daughter Sally Ann Thompson of Los Angeles; a sister, Edith Thompson of Phoenix and seven grandchildren.
