Mike G. Duarte, 78, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2003. He was born in Sonora, Arizona on April 17, 1925.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Agripina R. Duarte; 4 children, Mike Duarte, Jr. (Rose), Maria Robledo (Rob), Jesse Duarte (Patricia) and Gema Luna (Paul); 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters Mary "Licha" Quiroz and Eva Morales (Ansurio) and his brother Joe "Chema" Duarte (Mary) along with their families.
Mike served in the Navy during WWII and worked for 33 years as a drill operator for Kennecott Copper Corporation. Mike lived most of his life in Superior, Arizona and volunteered his time for the Little League and the Superior Cemetery Association.
He was most proud of his 16 years of service as Constable for the Superior/Kearny District.
Memorial services will be held in Superior, Arizona at St. Francis Catholic Church.
Rosary services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 29 at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday, April 30 at 10am followed by entombment at 11:30am at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E. Main, in Mesa, Arizona.
