KING, Rosa Lee

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 07/31/2003 Rosa Lee King, 89, died in Show Low July 27, 2003. She was born in Midway, Kentucky and grew up with seven brothers and sisters. Rosa Lee was a seamstress for most of her life. She worked in factories for shoes, clothing and even made parachutes during WWII. In 1954 she and her daughter Geraldine moved to Phoenix and worked at Gruber Garment Factory in Glendale, where she later retired. Rosa lived in Black Canyon City for eight years where she enjoyed gardening. She moved to Springerville to live with Dave and Geraldine for the past 20 years. Her hobbies included upholstery work, quilting and sewing. Rosa Lee was a great humanitarian, very giving, generous and caring to the less fortunate. She has been a member of The Baptist Church most of her Life. She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine (David) Silva of Springerville; and one brother, Gwynn Campbell of Versailles, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Lena Campbell and her siblings, AnnaBell, Vera Mae, Kenneth, Emma, Lloyd and Leonard. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 29 at The Baptist Church of Springerville. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled the arrangements.
