Eula Mae Sample, 87, died July 30, 2003 in Vernon.
Mrs. Sample was born in Milo, Oklahoma and lived most of her early life in and around Atoka, Oklahoma. It was there that she met and married James V. Sample and moved to Arizona in 1940 and they have lived in McNary and Pinetop ever since. She worked in the old General Store in McNary until it closed. She loved the White Mountains and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and just to go walking in the woods with her family, she also enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She was a member of the Pinetop Baptist Church.
She is survived by her three sons, Wayne Sample of Apache Jct., James (Dorothy) Sample of Estacada, Oregon, David (Jackie) Sample of Pinetop; one brother, Clifton Brisco of Oklahoma; one sister, Estie O. "Shug" Joplin of Prescott; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 4 at Brown's Funeral Home in Atoka, Oklahoma.
