Karon Ann Bottoms, 56, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 in Scottsdale following a short illness.
She was born in Alpena, Michigan to the late Richard Glenn and Jane Ellen (Robertson) Cheevers Nov. 9, 1946. She and her husband "Mickey" moved to Arizona from California in 1976. As a devout Christian she lived her faith through her service as a children's missionary and was a foster mother to more than 60 children over the years.
She is survived by her husband Charles E. "Mickey" Bottoms; sons, John Bottoms (Dru), Richard Bottoms (Laura); daughters, Kathleen Scheetz (John), Tewana Altaha, Shania Altaha, Jamie Nez; step-mother, Celia Cheevers; mother-in-law, Frances Heimlich; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Silver Creek Community Bible Church, 311 S. First Street East in Snowflake. Contributions to N.A.O.M.I. Ministries, P.O. Box 205, Joseph City, Arizona 86032 have been suggested by her family.
