Rudy V. Bagalini, 74, died peacefully in Tucson at home July 28, 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Amilcare Bagalini; his brother, John Bagalini; and son, James Bagalini.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 54 years; children, Mary (Eldon) Rusin, John L. Bagalini, Wendy Bagalini (widow of James), Michael (Michele) Bagalini, Jeanne Bagalini, Christina (Frank Gonzalez) Bagalini, Anne (Paul) Breshears; nephews, John A. Bagalini and Stephen R. Bagalini; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Arriving in Arizona in 1945, Rudy lived many years in Tucson, retired from the construction industry in 1982. After Mary retired in 1992, they were able to divide their time between Tucson and Lakeside. He transferred his Elk membership to the Show Low Chapter. From his early teens, Rudy had enjoyed the different pool games and after renewing this interest, proceeded to fine-tune his game. Over the past ten years he and his partner, Carl, won Elk State championships for the Show Low Lodge on a number of occasions.
Rudy was always a very avid and successful hunter, learning the ropes starting in 1950. He passionately enjoyed the outdoors. He was the patriarch of a large and diverse family and a devoted friend to many people throughout his life. He was deeply loved and will be missed deeply.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 2 in Tucson at the Mountain Shadows Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Fuller officiating.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 17 at the Show Low Elk's Lodge, 805 E. Whipple in Show Low.
