Rita Kane died Aug. 18, 2003 in Sun City. 

She was born May 23, 1941 in Cedar Creek and lived in Canyon Day.
  
Rita is survived by her companion, Mitchell Joe Yazzie, Sr.; daughters, Jacqueline Bird Chief, Macqueline Yazzie, Racqueline Rivers and Waikiki Helen Kane Yazzie; sons, Mitchell Yazzie, Jr. and Kane Yazzie; sisters, Violet Quintero, Ruby Kane and JoAnn Kane; and 20 grandchildren.

Home services were held Friday, Aug. 22 with Father Ed officiating. Interment will be in Red Hill Cemetery in Cedar Creek.
     
Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled arrangements.
