W. Kent Sumner – The death of Kent Sumner in Community Hospital the morning of January 31 came as a shock to his widespread circle of friends through this area whom he had served for 18 years of affiliation with the Wickenburg Ice co.
He had been in failing health the past two years.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. W. Howard Blazer of the First Presbyterian church, will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Wickenburg Funeral Home and burial will follow in the Wickenburg Cemetery.
Mr. Sumner was born May 13, 1905 in Dameron, West Virginia, and came to Arizona and Wickenburg in 1949.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes. L. Summers; two daughters, Mrs. Betty L. Underdown of Wickenburg and Hattie A. Cox of Cherry Valley, Calif.; two sons, William K. Sumner Jr., of Morristown, Pa., and John H. Sumner of San Bernardino, Calif.; one brother and two sisters in West Virginia and 13 grandchildren.
