Loren Gary Palmer, 59, died Aug. 22, 2003 in Show Low.
Gary was born in Winslow and lived in Taylor during most of his youth. He attended Taylor Elementary School and graduated from Snowflake Union High School with the class of 1961. In high school, he was a member of FFA (Future Farmers of America). He married Ginger Brimhall of Taylor Sept. 19, 1963 in The Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gary then worked for Southwest Forest Industries Paper Mill for 27 years and then moved to Grenada, Mississippi where he worked for Newsprint South, another paper mill from 1989 to 1999. He then returned to Arizona and lived the rest of his life in Show Low. For the past four years he worked for Abitibi Consolidated in Snowflake. Gary was a member of the Pinedale Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Gary is survived by his wife Ginger B. Palmer of Show Low; four sons Kim (Kristine) Palmer of Garland, Texas, Troy (Misty) Palmer of Roswell, New Mexico, Robin (Carol) Palmer of Taylor, Heath (Faye-Dawn) Palmer of Lehi, Utah; one daughter, Callie (Scott) Newby of Robards, New York; 14 grandchildren; his mother Mildred "Midge" Palmer of Taylor; three brothers, Rodney (Mary) Palmer of Chandler, Terry (Diane) Palmer of Syracuse, Utah, Darryl (Debbie) Palmer of Gilbert; two sisters, Judy (Howard) Hansen of Show Low, Edith (Bruce) Stott of Choteau, Montana. He was preceded in death by his father Dean Palmer in 1980.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 26 at the Pinedale-Clay Springs Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
