Roy Arthur Brewer, 79, died Friday, Aug. 22, 2003 in Tucson.
Roy was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, He was raised and also in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he moved to when he was just a boy. After he finished high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served as a radio operator during WWII.
After the war he worked for dealerships as an automobile mechanic for several years. He then went to work for Arizona Department of Transportation, as an auto mechanic, retiring after 20 years of service. Roy has lived in Joseph City for the past 31 years. He always enjoyed his work as a mechanic, and also enjoyed working with wood and fishing. His greatest love was to be with and care for his wife Sheri.
Roy is survived by his wife Sheri Brewer of Joseph City; five sons Roy A. (Cheri) Brewer, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rodney C. (Yoko) Brewer of Laie, Hawaii, Harry G. Brewer of South Carolina, Charles R. Brewer of California, and Jeff W. (Twila) Brewer of Tucson; four daughters, Linda J. (Rick) Spica of Las Vegas, Nevada, Sheri J. (Greg) Smith of Chulla Vista, California, Cheryl L. (Glen) Rawson of Logandale, Nevada, and Karen E.(Bruce) Burtcher of St. Anthony, Idaho; one sister, Rosalyn Gentry of Idaho; 27 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Joseph City of Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a viewing one hour prior. Interment will be in the Joseph City Cemetery.
Owens Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
