Harvey Bissell, 87, died at Community Hospital August 29. He was a resident of Wickenburg and Florida.
Born Oct. 22, 1884, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Mr. Bissell was the son of the inventor of the famous Bissell vacuum cleaner.
Mr. Bissell and his wife Marjorie bought their home in Wickenburg seven years ago. The Bissell home here was on the Prescott highway and was built by Mr. & Mrs. Don D’Onofrio now of Rochester, Mich.
Among his other accomplishments Mr. Bissell and his family sailed around the world twice on a three masted sailing ship. He has owned a cattle ranch in New Mexico and lived for a time in St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ed Cox of Wagon Mound, New Mexico, and Mrs. Bill Cameron of Sitges, Spain; a son John M. Bissell of Ada, Mich.; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
