ALVAREZ, Amulfo R., Sr.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, April 30, 2003 Amulfo R. Alvarez Sr., age 68, of Phoenix, Arizona fell asleep in death on Sunday, April 27, 2003, in Phoenix, AZ. He was born August 9, 1934 in Glendale, AZ to Jose and Anastacia Alvarez. Arnulfo, an Aircraft Welder by profession, worked and retired from Allied Signal after 28 years of service. Arnulfo also worked several years with the Sheet Metal Workers Union and ran his own Auto Radiator Service. Arnulfo is survived by his son, Abel and wife Veronica, daughters JoAnn Borunda and husband Cosme, Rose Marie Baldizan and husband Rudy, Liz Hovey and husband Dean, all children of his 43 year marriage to Angie Alvarez. Also survived by daughters Susan Posada and Patricia Marquez and four brothers and four sisters. 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Arnulfo "Guero" Alvarez, Jr. He will be truly missed by all his family and many friends. A memorial service will be held a 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Greenwood Memory Lawn with a viewing one hour prior. Courtesy of Pat Wilson.
