HESS, Martha A.

The Arizona Republic, Phoenix, Arizona Wednesday, April 30, 2003 Martha A. Hess, 71, of Phoenix, passed away on April 25, 2003. She was born April 18, 1932, in Wadsworth, Ohio. Her loving spirit will be sorely missed. Martha lived a life of generosity and service to others. She continued working up until the last few months of her life, caring for her clients at a Phoenix group home. She had hoped to return to the work she loved, but illness made that impossible. Her joy in living and her wonderful sense of humor will be long remembered by those of us who were blessed to know and love her. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Karem of Louisville, Michele (Dan) Holden of Phoenix and Audrey Hess of Phoenix, her brother David (Nancy) Dickerson of Tucson, and 5 grandchildren, Nick and Jenny (Peyton Hoge V) Karem, Eric Holden, and Alicia and Chantel Clynick. Services will be held Saturday, May 3, at 1:30 p.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 19640 N. 35th Ave., Phoenix.
