Eugene Allan Grizzle, 82, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 in Payson.
Eugene was born in Migley, Texas, on the Red River. His father was an old time circuit preacher for 62 years and supplemented his income by dry farming. Eugene was the second son of five children and would get up early before school to sell produce they had grown in their fields. The greatest commodities in his family were love, hard work and honesty before God.
He left home at 19 and joined the Navy, which he made a career of for twenty years. He was a Navy Chief for 18 of those years, responsible for diagnosing sonar malfunctions. After retirement he was employed by the U.S. Government for 15 years in the same occupation and was highly sought after throughout the world. He was a beautiful Christian man. By the grace of God he was united with Bessie Kauzlarich and had a wonderful marriage of 14 years. He was loved and respected by all who knew him.
Mr. Grizzle is survived by his wife, Bessie; one stepson, Ron Hornback of Show Low; two granddaughters, Daniell Furges of San Diego, California, and Rhonda (Rick) Coler of Sequim, Washington; one grandson, Ron (Lynn) Hornback, Jr. of Monroe, Washington; great-grandchildren, Micha Furges, of San Diego, California, and Carlee Hornback of Monroe, Washington and Derick and Madeline Coler of Sequim, Washington; two brothers J.W.
