The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/18/2003 Sarah Maude Judd Whetten, 92, died Sept. 14, 2003 in Mesa. She was born Jan. 19, 1911 in Colonia Chuichupa, Chihuahua, Mexico. She is survived by her seven children: Anthony C. (Bette), Jennie Elaine (Bill), Johnnie C. (Lois), Elbert T. (Sue), Reta Wattenbarger, Wesley J., and Gene; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Billy Judd. She was preceded in death by her husband Lufton Cray "Tex"; 13 brothers and sisters, one son-in-law; and two grandchildren. A visitation was held Sept. 18 at Meldrum Mortuary, 52 N. Macdonald in Mesa. Interment will be at the City of Mesa Cemetery.
