Arthur "Sonny" Richards, 64, died Sept. 13, 2003 at his home in Alpine.
He was born June 11, 1939 to Arthur and Emeline Richards in Lordsburg, New Mexico.
His survivors include two daughters, Valori Pagone of Chandler, and Kathy Boosa of Amarillo, Texas; a son, Rick Moseley of Willcox; his mother, Emeline Baxter of Lordsburg, New Mexico; and a sister, Margaret Sergeant of Scottsdale; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Alpine School House.

Arthur "Sonny" Richards, 64, died September 13, 2003 at his home in Alpine.
He was born June 11, 1939 to Arthur and Emeline Richards in Lordsburg, New. Mexico, graduated from high school in 1957 and entered New Mexico State University that fall and chose the rodeo team over a music scholarship. It became his way of life for several years. He was a member of P.R.C.A. His main event was bull riding.
In 1967, on his 28th birthday, he made his student run as a truck driver for Alabama Freight Lines, subsequently the name of the company changed and at the end of 20 years he was driving for Delta. He was a member of the "Two-Million-Mile Safe Drivers Club."
In 1960, he moved to Alpine, a place he had always loved. He enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, hunting, fishing, carpentry and knowing the people of the community.
Sonny had battled cancer for some time. He never complained nor lost his sense of humor.
His survivors include two daughters, Valori Pagone, Chandler, and Kathy Boosa, Amarillo, Texas; son, Rick Moseley, of Wilcox; stepdaughter, Marie Mosely, Henderson, Nevada; his mother, Emeline Baxter, Lordsburg, New Mexico; and sister Margaret Sergent, of Scottsdale; his aunt Mary Gay, of Santa Fe, New Mexico; nieces Kathy Sergent, Klondyke, and Patty Baxter, Lawrence, Kansas; nephew Tim Sergent, Phoenix, and several cousins. He also had six grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sept. 27, at the Alpine School House with Rev. Loren Turner of Lordsburg Methodist Church, Lordsburg, New Mexico officiated, with the eulogy prepared and read by Kathy Sergent.
