MICHAELIS, Albert Francis

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/18/2003 Albert Francis Michaelis, 89, died Sept. 14, 2003 in Show Low. Al was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended high school there. Al worked in the transportation industry all of his life. For over 25 years he was the traffic manager for the Allison Division of General Motors. He married Mildred Nally in 1935, she passed away in 1991. Al retired in 1974 and they started spending every winter in the White Mountains in 1981, moving here permanently in 2001. He belonged to the Catholic Church in Indianapolis, for most of his life. Albert is survived by three sons, William "Bill" Michaelis, Lee Michaelis, both of Indianapolis and Rick Michaelis of Tempe; four daughters, Rosemary Ryan, Joanne Carter both of Indianapolis, Debbie Busfield of Apache Jct., and Marybeth Michaelis of Mesa; one brother, William Michaelis of Indianapolis; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 20 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Owens Mortuary of Show Low handled arrangements.
