Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona 8/20/1946 Page 5 Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie B. Rawson will he held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist church, with Rev. Richard S. Beal officiating. Mrs. Rawson died at her home yesterday following a lengthy illness. Born in Kentucky in 1898, Mrs. Rawson was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Harper, and the wife of George C. Rawson of Flagstaff. She and Mr. Rawson were married in Gallup in 1917, and moved to Flagstaff in 1922. A longtime active worker in Baptist Church circles here, she had been in ill health for some time, which restricted her work there. In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vernon Fairchild of Flagstaff; three brothers C.J. Harper, Oklahoma City, Okla., G. M. Harper, Abilene, Tex., and C.A. Harper of Flagstaff; and a sister Mrs. P.H. Harley of Albuquerque, N.M. A son, George Rawson, lost his life in the Pacific during the war in 1943. Relatives in Flagstaff for the service tomorrow include Mr. and Mrs Harley, Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Harper, and a brother and sister-in-law of Mr Rawson, Mr. and Mrs. John Rawson of Eastland, Tex. A sister of Mr. Rawson, Pearl Rawson of Pasadena, Cal. has been in Flagstaff since April and plans to remain here indefinitely.
