Michael Austin Paul Anthony Pinson, 53, of National City, California and Show Low, died at his home Oct. 2, 2003.
Michael attended school at Sweetwater High School with the Class of 1968 of National City, California. He was a majority member of Southwest Demolay and worked on many community projects. Michael was Assistant Director of the National City Rodeo Association, which benefited the servicemen center. He worked for his mother, Evelyn Pinson, manning the center, bringing friendship, comfort and food for our boys away from home.
He was a member of the Southwest Masonic Lodge No. 283, and also worked for the family business, The National Screen Company, from age 15 to 27. He moved to Show Low, in 1977 where he worked as driver and office manager at Northern Energy Propane Company for the past 20 years. Mike was a true and loving husband, father, and grandfather, a wonderful son, and brother, a loyal friend always ready to help anyone in need and to lend a helping hand. He was kind and generous man, loved by many. He will be missed by all.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Pinson of Lakeside; two daughters, Christine (David) Rice and Nicole Riggs; son, Michael Wayne Pinson; grandchildren, Austin Rice and Anthony Riggs; his mother, Evelyn L. Pinson of Show Low; brother, Kenneth (Jamie) Napper of Palm Springs, California; sister, Pamela Joyce McCloud of Las Vegas, Nevada; h is aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Roadman of Brea, California; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many true and loyal friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. George Lowrey of California; father, Ralph A. Pinson Jr., former city councilman of National City, California; his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz Schwing of National City California; and cousins, David Schwing, Thomas Pinson, Steven Roadman, and Jason Buckelew.
Funeral services were held Oct. 8 at the First Baptist Church of Pinetop. A Masonic Service was also held Tuesday evening at Owens Mortuary of Show Low.
