Emerson Joiner, Sr. 83, died suddenly at his home in Springerville, Oct. 9.
Emerson was born in Burkeville, Texas April 1, 1920. Over the years he held many jobs, but worked most of the time as a brick mason in construction. He has lived in the White Mountain area and sometimes Tucson for the past 45 years. Emerson was passionate about hunting and fishing and his dog "Peanut." He loved people and he never met a stranger.
His survivors include his sons, Emerson Joiner, Sr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ellison Joiner, Houston of Texas; daughters Mattie Joiner of Tucson and Frances James of Las Vegas, Nevada. He had 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
His wife, Alzada; and his son J.W. Joiner preceded him in death.
Graveside services were held at the Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Tuesday, Oct. 14.
Jewkes Mortuary, Springerville handled the arrangements.
