The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona Wednesday, March 10, 2010 William J. Salonus, 88, of Middlesex Township, Valencia, formerly of Hopewell Township, Penn., and Wickenburg, Ariz., died Saturday, Feb. 27, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township. Born in Aliquippa, Penn., July 16, 1921, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Mary Kelly Salonus. He was a retired pharmacist for Thrift Drug in Ambridge and belonged to the Aliquippa Elks Club for 60 years. A World War II Army veteran, he also belonged to the Hopewell VFW. He was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are his wife Marjorie L. Newell Salonus, who he married July 22, 1957; son William Salonus Jr. of Greenfield, Wis.; daughters Sandra Maitland of North Versailles and Mary Rockwell and her husband, Michael, of Middlesex Township, Penn.; sister Kathryn Porter of Aliquippa, Penn.; brother Edward C. Salonus and his wife Ruth of Cincinnati; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services and interment for William J.
