The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 11/06/2003 Coye Marie Blazevic, 53, died Nov. 3, 2003 at Navapache Regional Medical Center. She was born in Phoenix and attended school there. She met John Blazevic at Maryvale High School. They were in theater together and were married in 1969 and lived in several areas in Phoenix settling in Apache Junction where they raised their family. Coye's main goal was to help her children succeed in their schooling, music and other interests they had. She was very proud of all her children and their accomplishments. Coye was baptized as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1975 and John joined in 1976. The family was sealed in the Mesa Temple in 1978. They moved their family to Taylor in 1985 where she stayed very involved in the community. She had a great singing voice and was part of the Liberty Bells. She also loved genealogy and for a time served in the genealogy library. She loved doing research and finding books that referred to her family ancestors. Coye's family were some of the original settlers of Mesa. She was proud of her heritage. They also moved to Buckeye where they were involved in farming. She went out of her way, even with her health conditions, to serve in the callings she had in church. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Coy continued in helping her grandchildren learn and understand. She also loved to paint. She put a lot of spirit into her painting. She is survived by her husband, John of Taylor; four daughters, Audra Heinze of Taylor, Carrie Meredith of Flagstaff, Angie of Flagstaff and Mattie of Taylor; one son, Jason of Washington; her mother, Ruth Hazelton; and two brothers, Patrick Hazelton and Terry Hazelton; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Hazelton. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at the Taylor Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Owens Mortuary of Snowflake handled arrangements.
