Virginia Mary Henderson, 80, of Prescott died peacefully Wednesday, Nov.5.
"Gini" is survived by her husband of 20 years, William Joseph Henderson, sister Hazel Lee Hatcher, brother William Ponto as well as three children, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter and grandson.
Gini was born in Salmon, Idaho Sept. 2, 1923. She met and married Charles William Pearson at the age of 19, settling down in Pasadena, California. She was active in her community, serving as president of the PTA, Bluebird troop leader and volunteer at her church.
In 1973 they relocated to Show Low, where they established and managed the Rimcrest RV Park, eventually providing space for 89 RVs. She was an avid bridge player and member and vice president of the White Mountain Women's Club.
Divorced in 1980, she married William Henderson in 1983. Following her retirement, Gini lived in Lakeside and remained active in the community before relocating to Prescott in 1997. While in Prescott, she was a volunteer at the Care Center and the Christian Science Reading Room.
Gini enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing and authoring books on bridge, reading the tabloids, cooking and exploring new restaurants, camping at the beach, and participating in women's groups. She was known for her outgoing personality and never met a person she couldn't turn into a friend with a few well-chosen words.
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Mortuary at 131 Grove Avenue in Prescott, (928) 445-1881. Gravesite services will be held in Show Low at a date to be announced later.
