Joseph Tiburcio Borrego, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 and his wife of 74 years, Pauline M. Borrego, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 both in Logan, Utah.
Joe was born Aug. 23, 1910 in Jaroso, Colorado. Joe grew up in Colorado and New Mexico. Pauline was born July 1, 1908 in Bernalillo, New Mexico. They were married Aug. 21, 1929, moved to Arizona in the 50s, and lived in the Lakeside area for approximately 45 years. Joe worked for the Blue Ridge School District as a bus driver and maintenance man, etc. He worked for Mesa Community College for a short time, returning to Lakeside to retire. In 2000, Joe and Pauline moved to Logan, Utah to live closer to their youngest son.
Joe and Pauline were preceded in death by his son, Donald Borrego (1994); and daughter Dorothy Borregos Villalobos (2002). They are survived one son, Anthony Borrego; 20 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for the couple were held Saturday, Nov. 22 in Logan, Utah. Grandsons and granddaughters served as pallbearers.
Joe and Pauline never knew a stranger, and they always offered a helping hand to anyone in need. They were loved by many, and they will be missed.
