SHIRK, L.A. (Verne)

L.A. "Verne" Shirk, 71, died Dec. 2, 2003 at his home in Pinetop. 

He retired from Garrett, (now known as Honeywell) in Oct. 1993. He was the manager of manufacturing Garrett Turbine Engine Division.
  
Verne is survived by his wife, Wallie Simpson Shirk of Pinetop; two sons, David and Phillip Shirk; one daughter, Dina Sherman; five grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.

In lieu of flowers the family wished donations be made to one of the following; American Lung and Heart Association, or a charity of choice.
     
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003 at Owens Mortuary of Show Low
