CLONTS, Durward

Arizona Repubic March 6, 2010 Page B7 Clonts, Durward "Dude" Malcom 92, went to be with his Lord 2/27/2010. Words cannot describe how greatly he will be missed by his family and friends. He was born in El Dorado, Oklahoma to Samuel Asberry Clonts and Alice Lou (Campbell) on 6/22/1917 the youngest son of fourteen children. All have preceded him in death but one older brother Nolan, and two younger sisters, Hessie Mosier and Cora Holley. "Dude" as he was always called, came to Arizona when he was seven and spent most of his younger years in the Safford Valley where he met and married Victoria D. Walker, "Vick", who passed January 2009. They were married for 72 years. They lived the last 58 years in Gilbert, AZ near their children. They had two children, a daughter, Yvonne Sue Everett, and a son who passed before them February 7, 2006, Lamar Walker Clonts. Dude loved his wife and family above all else in this world. Family get togethers, reunions, talking to friends and especially helping someone solve a problem were his big delights in life. He loved mechanics, woodworking and inventing something, anything, to get the job done. He was wonderfully talented and didn't know a stranger. Everyone was always welcome in his home. He was such a strong influence in our lives we will be handing down his stories for generations to come. Even though he was with us all our lives it now seems like such a short time. He was Blessed and we were Blessed to have him. He was also preceded in death by granddaughter Christine, great granddaughter Barbie and a great grandson Francis. Those family members remaining who celebrate and cherish the memories of his life are his daughter Yvonne Everett, son-in-law Robert "Bob" Everett, and daughter-in-law Barbara (Day-Moyers) Clonts. Six granddaughters: Julie Schicker (Bernie), Deborah Rodi (Ed), Robin Everett, Renae Vossler, (Todd), Vicki Johnson, (Dennis), Raquel Everett. Great grandchildren: Julynne, Justin, Sarah, Brooke, Shyra, Michael, Savannah, Brody & Cooper. Great great grandchildren: Colby, Cody, Billy and Madyson. With seven brothers and six sisters he had many many nieces and nephews. Services were private.
